Around the Show

Leonardo is one of the strategic partners of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). at DSEI 2023, visitors could learn more about how we're supporting the trilateral programme to develop a next generation fighter aircraft.

Returning to DSEI this year was a Royal Navy Type-23 frigate. Leonardo's AW159 Wildcat multi-mission helicopters support the Carrier Strike Group in multiple ways on operations around the globe. Also on board the ship was Leonardo's latest technology in support of the Rotary Uncrewed Air System (RUAS) capability.

You could learn more about how Leonardo is working with UK MOD to develop future capability by visiting the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) stand. Visitors were able to find out how we are designing air platform protection solutions as part of Team Pellonia – a collaborative national enterprise approach to delivering UK Next Generation Air Survivability (NGAS) solutions, and our role in the development of Laser Directed Energy Weapon systems.

Team Protect, comprising PA Consulting, Leonardo UK, Leidos UK and Marshall Land Systems, has been selected by the UK MOD to deliver CRENIC – a future Force Protection Electronic Countermeasure programme. The team was in the Future Tech Zone during DSEI.

Attendees could also find our state-of-the-art long-range acoustic weapon-locating system, HALO, on the UK Defence & Security Exports stand.
