Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) – Our partnership is designed to enable us to attract, develop and retain talent from different ethnic backgrounds – talent that we really value. AFBE-UK is a not-for-profit organisation with a current membership of 1,500 individual engineers across the UK.

Investors in People (IIP) – Leonardo UK has achieved Gold level accreditation for Investors in People's (IIP) 'Investors in Young People' (IIYP) and 'We Invest in Wellbeing', along with Silver level accreditation for 'We Invest in People'. These reflect the company’s commitment to supporting the development of its employees through opportunities offered by technology, succession planning and flexible working, and tackling challenges such as ineffectual decision-making, absenteeism and employee disengagement.

 

Into Work – Leonardo is delighted to be partnering with Into Work, the charity which provides personalised employment advice and practical support for disabled people and people with any long-term health condition who live in Edinburgh or Midlothian. The charity is also using its knowledge, skills and values to help Leonardo build effective teams with diverse qualities.

Pride in Defence – Leonardo is a member of Pride in Defence which aims to connect all the LGBTQ+ networks / employee resource groups within the UK defence sector organisations, and promote inclusion and diversity across the industry. Members are encouraged to collaborate, share best practice and organise pan-defence activities for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies.

 

STEM Returners – This programme enables candidates to restart their career following a break. Leonardo recognises the skills and talent that these candidates offer and in return provides exciting roles coupled with excellent support on some of our cutting-edge programmes.

The 5% Club – Leonardo is a proud member of the 5% Club, a campaign focused on creating momentum behind the recruitment of apprentices and graduates into the UK workforce.

Think Act Report – Leonardo signed up to this voluntary Government initiative which aims to promote gender equality in the workplace and provides a simple framework to help companies consider gender equality and to focus on recruitment, promotion, retention and pay.

Women's Engineering Society – Leonardo is delighted to work with the society, supporting and celebrating the many achievements of women in engineering and inspiring the next generation of innovators and pioneers. WES is a charity and a professional network of women engineers, scientists and technologists offering inspiration, support and professional development. It works in partnership with companies and organisations to: support and inspire women to achieve as engineers, scientists and as leaders; encourage the education of engineering; and support companies with gender inclusion and diversity.
 

 

Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter – Leonardo is proud to be one of the major companies to have signed the WIAA Charter, pledging our support for improving the gender balance in our industry, and building a more balanced and fair industry for women.
