Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team

Since 2010, Leonardo has partnered with and supported the UK’s Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST), which plays a powerful role in the recovery, transformation and personal freedom of wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

This snowsport activity rebuilds their self-confidence and competitive spirit, through alpine skiing, snowboarding and Nordic/Biathlon cross-country skiing, providing a winter sports development pathway for disabled athletes to regain their spirit of challenge and competition.

As part of this support, Leonardo encourages staff from across its UK sites to take inspiration from the AFPST's extraordinary athletes and embrace the 'Spirit of Challenge', taking on their own personal challenge by selecting a sport or activity to help raise funds for this highly effective rehabilitation sports programme.

Through money raised by the company, AFPST athletes had the opportunity to attend the 2019 Hartford Ski Spectacular event in Breckenridge, Colorado, in December 2019, highlights of which can be seen in the video below.

World Tour

For the second year in succession, Leonardo employees, suppliers and customers, including family and friends, took part in the Leonardo World Tour – a challenging initiative in the name of wellbeing and physical activity aimed at stimulating collaboration and increasing team spirit.
